Plastering Fibre Research Project

Fibres are one of the most important materials we use in plastering. There are currently two main options available on the mass market – animal fibres or plastic fibres  - niether of which are ethical or sustainable.

Over the last 6 months, we have been working with lime plasterers across the UK, to find an alternative plastering fibre that is both ethical, sustainable but prehaps most importantly - is easily scalable. There is a wealth of research on a number of available fibres but many aren't scalable without significant investment and processing. 

After much research and testing, we think we have found some great options. We are now on a mission to raise awareness of these options, and ultimately ensure that they are made easily available..
