This two day practical course will give you a solid introduction on how to work with lime building materials. Day 1 will be spent learning the basics at our training centre. On Day 2 you will head to Westbury Tower to put your new skills to use on a Grade I listed structure.

About the Event
This practical two day course will give you a solid introduction on how to work with lime building materials. Find out about the properties and different uses of lime in building and why lime is such an essential material when looking after older buildings.
Day one starts with classroom time: learning about the different types of lime, their uses and the best type of lime to use where. The afternoon will see you getting practical hands-on experience: making a traditional lime mix and then using it to carry out pointing repairs.
On Day Two we head to near by Westbury on Severn to put our skills into practice and help restore the Grade I listed tower.
