
Worse before it's better
Now that the roof is water tight, the fun stuff begins; turning dreamview back into the beautiful cottage it once was. We have now ripped out off all the plaster board in the forge and pulled down the false wall. In a week we have gone from dust free tidy room to building site. I'm told it has to get worse before it gets better! Now that all of the plasterboard has been removed we have discovered a new problem: barking dogs. Week 1 and we're praying for sunshine
We’ve been in less than a day and already Ben has the roof off on the garden room and study to sort out the leak. It’s in a far worse state than we had hoped but all fixable. Once the numerous rats, spiders and rubbish has been cleared out, the batons replaced and the 16 inches of insulations inserted, the tiles are put back in place. We’re going to be toasty warm now.

Living what we preach
If you have spoken to Ben or I over the last 6 months then you will know all about Greenview – or 'Dreamview' as we have taken to calling it. Greenview is our new family home and project. On first viewing and perhaps to the untrained eye, the property is well maintained and needs little work. Unfortunately (although excitedly for us), this is not the case. The roof leaks, many of the homes beautiful original features are covered in plasterboard, we have rodents, and don’t ask
