Mentor days for Tom

We arrived at work this morning to a beautifully white car park – picture perfect! Sadly, there wasn’t quite enough time to build a snowman, as January for us is all about staff training and planning for the year ahead.

This year, we’re delighted to have our new tutor, Tom, fully involved in that process. It’s been fantastic to hear his fresh ideas and thoughtful feedback as we continue to improve and refine what we offer.

As part of Tom’s Train the Trainer programme, he benefits from monthly mentor days with both Ben and myself. Today was one of those days. The morning was spent exploring how what Tom is learning through his teaching qualification translates directly into the courses he’ll be delivering with us. We talked through different learning styles and how we can adapt our teaching approaches and resources to ensure an inclusive, engaging learning environment for everyone.

In the afternoon, Tom teamed up with Ben to dive into the finer points of leading a classroom session, discussing how he can confidently shape sessions and truly make them his own.

All in all, it was a highly productive and inspiring day — and we’re really excited about what Tom will be bringing to the classroom this year.

A big thank you to The #NationalLottery #HeritageFund @HeritageFundUK and the players for making this possible
